Predstavnici Ministarstva mora nedavno su potpisali ugovore s 12 turističkih i izletničkih brodara kojima će se isplatiti oko 3,3 milijuna kuna nepovratnih državnih potpora za izgradnju ili rekonstrukciju brodova. Gotovo 2,9 milijuna kuna subvencija za gradnju dobiti će vlasnici 10 tvrtki, od kojih četiri dolaze iz Krila Jesenica, dvije iz Suhog Potoka te po jedna iz Babina Polja na Mljetu, Biograda, Solina i Virovitice. Oko 340 tisuća kuna bit će isplaćeno za rekonstrukciju brodova jednoj tvrtki iz Povlja te turističkom obrtu iz Privlake.
Projekt potpore razvoja i obnove turističke flote započeo je prije pet godina tijekom kojih je država s gotovo 12 milijuna kuna sudjelovala u izgradnji 33 te obnovi i rekonstrukciji 16 brodova. Cilj projekta je poboljšanje sigurnosti plovidbe na moru, zaštita okoliša Jadrana te razvoj turizma i malog poduzetništva na obali i otocima.
Hrvatska turistička flota ima 405 registriranih brodova, u vlasništvu 336 privatnih brodara – malih poduzetnika, koji mogu primiti oko 5000 putnika.
