La région de Varaždin a décidé de présenter aux touristes sa riche offre gastronomique ainsi que son patrimoine en la matière, d’une manière nouvelle – par “La Route de la nourriture traditionnelle”. Il s’agit d’un projet grâce auquel les touristes ne pourront pas seulement profiter des délices typiques de la région de Varaždin mais aussi participer à leur préparation dans 11 propriétés agricoles familiales. Ce projet va renforcer l’offre touristique en y incluant les fabricants de produits traditionnels, dont certains sont protégés, comme, entre autres, le chou de Varaždin, le klipić (petit pain), le miel et l’eau-de-vie au miel (medena rakija), l’huile de pépins de courge. D’ici à la fin de l’année, les exploitations participant au projet recevront un tableau d’informations reprenant leurs coordonnées, leur position sur la carte ainsi qu’une histoire intéressante à propos du produit qu’ils proposent. Dans le cadre de ce projet, une signalisation brune a été placée, un catalogue des produits et des producteurs traditionnels a été édité en croate et en anglais, catalogue accompagné d’une carte où sont indiqués tous les producteurs. Une page web est en construction, www.put-tradicionalne-hrane.com, et on prévoit l’ouverture d’un magasin en ligne, de manière à ce que les personnes intéressées venant de régions plus éloignées, puissent, eux aussi, acheter les produits typiques de la région de Varaždin proposés. Outre la promotion des plats traditionnels et des produits de bonne qualité, l’un des buts du projet est aussi que les exploitations agricoles concernées qui n’ont pas encore de produits labellisés, prennent part au processus de certification et à la promotion des produits agricoles sélectionnés. “La Route de la nourriture traditionnelle” devrait, dans un avenir proche, être liée à la route des vins qui existe déjà dans la région de Varaždin.
