Riots and political turmoil in North Africa affected the change in plans of tourists from Germany so as an alternative to Egypt and Tunisia, Turkey, Spain, Italy, Cyprus, and especially Bulgaria and Croatia have imposed themselves, according to the research conducted by the agency “GfK Travel Insights”.

One of the biggest Croatian campsites, Park Umag, of the Umag hotelier ‘Istraturist’ will further expand, and planned in its surroundings is the construction of a hotel and an apartment complex. Istraturist plans to invest around 20 million euros into the improvement of quality accommodation and services in 2012. An increase in capacity is planned within the existing campsite, which uses less than 70 percent of its spatial potential at the moment. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and the Croatian Vice Pesident and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Gordan Jandroković signed an Agreement of Air Transport between the USA and Croatia on 3 February 2011. They agreed that this would allow the arrival of a large number of American tourists to Croatia and open new investment opportunities.
The agreement was signed shortly after the American Aviation Authorities (FAA) recently established that Croatia meets the ICAO international safety standards in aviation and have granted Croatia category 1.

Selce – new hotel is being built at the site of the dilapidated Hotel ‘Jadranka’

The construction of an exclusive five-star hotel Zlatni Prsten with 84 beds should soon begin in the tourist village Zelena Laguna. It is a foreign investment stretching over about 10 000 square meters of land on the territory of Funtana, close to the border with Poreč. This will be the first five-star hotel in Poreč.
