Dubrovnik has recently been linked by air to Athens and from the beginning of June until the end of September it will be air linked with Moscow. An aircraft of the Croatian national air carrier Croatia Airlines will connect Dubrovnik and the capital of Greece three times a week: on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. Dubrovnik will also be linked with the main Moscow airport Šeremetjevo three times a week. The aircraft of the Russian national air carrier Aeroflot will be flying on this line on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Croatia Airlines, the Croatian national air carrier, has recently officially confirmed that it has introduced many new direct flights in their summer timetable.
New seasonal flights are being added from Zadar airport to Munich and Zurich. The first regular flight from Zadar to the Bavarian metropolis is scheduled for 3 May whilst from 29 September airplanes on that line will fly twice a week, on Tuesdays and Thursdays. TAP Portugal, the Portuguese national airline, is introducing a new line between Lisbon and Dubrovnik in June. The first aircraft will connect the two cities on 23 June and flights are planned for every Thursday until 25 August 2011. This is the first time in history that Dubrovnik will be linked to Lisbon by a direct airline.

In the period from 27 April to 19 October, a seasonal connection Zagreb – Rijeka – London will be introduced once again this year, 18 months after the Croatian airline company Croatia Airlines canceled this route due to the rationalization of business. Croatia Airlines Airbus 320 with a passenger capacity of 162 seats will operate on Wednesdays during the preseason, season and part of the postseason.

Five low cost European airline companies have recently announced that they will introduce new direct flights to Dubrovnik in April and May next year. Germanwings, a German low cost carrier, will introduce a direct flight from Hamburg on 2 May, while Jer2.com, a British airline, will introduce flights from Edinburgh. The Finnish company Blue1 will introduce flights from Helsinki to Dubrovnik in early spring, on Saturdays, from 3 April and on Tuesdays as well from 4 May.
